Deft9 Solutions combines interdisciplinary expertise in the cyber, intelligence, and information environments to help government and commercial clients operate from a position of strength in the cognitive domain. 

Recent years have revealed glaring vulnerabilities in democratic information spaces worldwide. Our adversaries have sought to exploit these vulnerabilities, threatening our national interests. Countering these efforts requires an often-lacking interdisciplinary expertise. That’s where Deft9 comes in.

Deft9 combines novel methodologies and traditionally untapped expertise in the cognitive domain with decades of institutional fluency to provide unmatched analysis and recommendations to counter foreign malign influence.

Deft9 not only responds to, but preempts foreign malign influence. Our experts come from a variety of cultural, soft science, and cyber backgrounds, allowing them to overcome ethnocentric barriers that inhibit effective information operations and decision-making. We leverage state-of-the-art technology, complementary industry partners, and open-source and classified intelligence to synthesize analysis for operations in the information environment. Our interagency sophistication and networks ensure that our solutions are executable.

In 2021, several colleagues from the information, cyber, and intelligence fields discussed foreign influence operations--and the many systemic disadvantages the West and United States had in countering that influence. The discussion kept coming back to a recurring theme: that a multi-disciplined, networked approach was both uncommon and needed. The colleagues discussed a relevant mix of techniques, technologies, and interagency fluency that was neither taught in school nor broadly used in government. They knew that in their professional community lay the capabilities required to gain and retain the information initiative. With nine colleagues in mind to contribute the needed capabilities, we established Deft9 Solutions, Inc.
